blog. not a pretty word, is it?

Sometime around January of 2006, I stopped posting on my old livejournal page. What can I say: life started getting in the way. Imagine! Something getting in the way of posting my thoughts and opinions on the information superhighway. Now, almost two years later, I feel ready to shout into the void with all the other (god, i hate this word...) "bloggers". We live in a volatile and dangerous world...and 2007 has been...um....interesting? Is that the right word? As we peek over the edge of 2007 and look upon the dawn of a new year, it only feels right to hope against all hopes that 2008 will be a good year. Heck, Britney may even attend her court -ordered depositions this year. We know for absolute certainty that George W. Bush CANNOT be the leader of the free world after 2008. Whether you are on Team Obama, Team McCain, Team (H.) Clinton, Team Guilliani or Team Romney..I think we all know it can only go up from here.

I titled this (ugh..this WORD again) "blog" Notes from the Attic because that is where my HQ is. A small renovated attic apartment in a small, quaint New England town. I live here with a very small yet loud Mini Dachsund who answers to the name Gunther, and my devoted and patient boyfriend.

I find myself wasting time on the internet looking at celebrity blogs (Perez Hilton, what sort of new devil is HE, really?). Sadly I am interested in the lives of this alleged celebrities, and their subsequent trainwrecks. I do NOT support the paparazzi, though. Its frightening that people are legally allowed to stalk and invade a persons personal space. As fun as it can be to read celeb rags and blogs, there is a sick and twisted undertone to the money being made from tormenting these people. This includes our beloved Britney..and I would venture to say is a large cause of her clearly evident mental instability. But, I digress.

I have to acknowledge a fellow blogger (still..i am going to have a tough time with this word..) who I know from fun with community theater , BetaMom. I stumbled upon her blog while reading up on Facebook info and found her so funny and honest that I felt inspired to start up my own. Here's to you, BetaMom.

And so...thats it, I guess. Thats the start of a new blog. Ugh, that word.
